The Ontario Forest Accord Advisory
Board (OFAAB) has the task of overseeing the implementation of
the terms of the Ontario Forest Accord, the

The Forest Accord covers a number of
key issues, including:

setting out a mechanism for finishing
the protected-areas system in Ontario

a requirement for the establishment
of protected areas and environmental assessment before forestry
activities start in the Far Northern Boreal forest

better protect wildlife habitat

an opportunity for the conservation
community to have input into forestry activities and a say about
potential practices such as spraying, plantations, etc.

The accord represents a bold new approach
